This was a large condo project as we were contracted to renovate the exterior of the Marina Way Dr condos in Sewaren. The complex, which was built in the 1990’s was not only outdated, but had some structural issues that needed to be addressed. Because of replacement windows that were not properly installed, there was a lot of concealed damage that needed to be corrected. There was significant damage to the insulation and exterior wall of the condo underneath the siding. This means we had to take our time to make sure this was done correctly. The sheathing had to be removed and replaced due to mold, mildew, and rot.
For the siding, we used Certainteed Mainstreet in the color Natural Clay, which is a neutral tan. It was the perfect complement to the roof color. We paired it with 2 1/2″ window trim in white to offset the siding. Because of the extensive work that needed to be done to correct the damage, the project took about seven months to complete.
